SUPSI PVLab is an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory and offers testing and measurement services for electrical characterization in the laboratory and outdoors, climatic and mechanical testing, and safety testing of PV modules.

The services are suitable from the R&D phase to the operational phase.

  • Verification of PV modules according to IECEE (International Electrotechnical Commission) guidelines

  • Sampling for PV module deliveries from production or installation site

  • Quality assessment of PV systems by sampling of modules or by monitoring

 

Factory inspection and financial viability assessment are carried out by external experts.

SUPSI PVLab laboratory is at your disposal with

  • 2 climate chambers for accelerated aging of PV modules with temperature and humidity cycles

  • 2 Flash sun simulators Class AAA, 2ms and 10 ms available also for capacitive modules (More than 8000 modules measured in 10 years, with all technologies available on the market)

  • Continuous light sun simulator for accelerated aging of PV modules and for the determination of Light Induced Degradation (LID).

  • Mechanical load test up to 14000 Pa to check the extreme snow load resistance

  • Hail resistance test with hailstones of 25, 30, 35, 40, 50 and 55 mm diameter (VKF accredited)

  • Electroluminescence and infrared - photography

  • Measurement of the spectral sensitivity

  • Outdoor test benches with high-precision measuring systems

  • Testing apparatus for the adhesion of laminates
